What successful women and men do that is different from women and men who struggle has long been an interest of mine. What allows some women and men to move forward, achieve their goals, and feel a sense of self worth versus women and men who have challenges they meet that hold them back on an intrapsychic or interpersonal level.
Some things that I have found that cross over between women and men are:
- Attachment issues.
- Familial transgenerational learning, stress, and conditioning.
- Poor parenting.
- Intergenerational drug and or alcohol abuse.
- Subjugation, oppression, denigration, both covert or overt.
- Limiting thought patterns.
- Cognitive distortions.
- Rigid or loose boundaries.
- Communication issues.
- Intrapersonal problems.
- Lack of Support and an inability to find support.
- Lack of self-soothing capabilities.
- Unhealthy relationships.
These are but a few of the things that can hinder forward movement. I like the saying:
If you are not moving forward, then you are moving backward, as life is movement, and there is no standing still.
Growth takes desire and putting that desire into action.
Where are you today, and where would you like to be in a year from now, or perhaps five years down the road on your chosen journey?
Life involves choices. The choices you make today will determine who and what you are tomorrow.
If you would like to start improving your life and working on the struggles that have been holding you back, please give me a call:
